Abstract
Cadmium in soil is harmful to environment and human health. Study on speciation of cadmium in Chengdu soil is helpful to prevent and eliminate the harm. Speciation of soil cadmium in top soil in Chengdu has been studied in this paper, including the Cadmium pollution survey of top soil in Chengdu, the chemical speciation research of Cadmium in top soil, and the evaluation of Cadmium pollution in Chengdu soil. Speciation and the variation were obtained by sequential extraction procedure. After entering soil, Cadmium exists mainly as exchangeable and organic bond fraction. The content of exchangeable fraction is special high and almost occupies half of total content. Furthermore, the content of cadmium in soil profile shows a decreasing trend from up to down, in a word, the content of cadmium in top soil is larger than that in lower soil. The result shows potential soil cadmium pollution in our research area, the potential hazards to human health should not be ignored.
