Abstract

A Ka-band oversized smooth-walled horn feeder is designed for the high power millimeter wave transmission line. To obtain a compact structure, a phase re-matching structure with slightly reduced radius is used at the middle of the horn. Owing to the inserted phase re-matching structure, the mode coupling process is controlled, and the ideal fractions as well as the ideal phase of multi-modes are achieved at the output aperture. The gain of 28 dBi and the cross-polarization less than −53 dB is obtained via the smooth-walled horn with a length of 600 mm and the input/output aperture of 16/45 mm.
