Abstract

Abstract Epilobium angustum, until recently known only from two localities about Lake Tekapo, Canterbury, is now recognized as occurring to the east of the Main Divide, from latitude 43° 03′ to 45° 32′S. The history of the taxon is reviewed and the typification is clarified. An expanded description is given. Seed morphology and plant indumenta are emphasized in distinguishing between E. angustum and the often closely similar E. komarovianum.
