Abstract

Based on recent extensive collections of J. K. Bartlett between Latitude 34° 30′S and Latitude 47°S, a survey of the Campylopus flora of New Zealand is presented. C. paludosus J. K. Bartlett et J.-P. Frahm and C. pyriformis (Schultz) Brid. var. hamatus J. K. Bartlett et J.-P. Frahm are described as new, C. flavoviridis Dus. is reported new to New Zealand. The Campylopus flora of New Zealand comprises nine species. A key is given for all species, plus additional ecological remarks. Chorisodontium aciphyllum is recorded as new to the New Zealand flora and comments are made on the systematic position of the taxon Chorisodontium burrowsii Allis.
