Abstract

The present article confirms that two new butterflies (Lepidoptera: Lycanidae) species, Logania distanti massalia Doherty, 1891 (Dark Mottle) and Nacaduba pactolus continentalis Fruhstorfer, 1916 (Large four-Linblue) reported for the first time from the North-eastern region of Bangladesh during an opportunistic survey on butterflies. These two new sighting records signify previous sampling gaps and suggest further survey to make a baseline database and take effective initiatives for conservation to protect the butterfly fauna in this area.
