Abstract

It is argued that the test to distinguish between real, complex and quaternionic quantum theory, recently proposed by Peres [1], distinguishes between the geometrical rather than the algebraical structures of such types of theories. A classification of real, complex, quaternionic and octonionic theories with respect to both structures is given.
