Notes on the identity and taxonomic status of steno endemic <i>Senecio lawsonii</i> Gamble and <i>Senecio lessingianus</i> Gamble and Senecio lessingianus C.B. Clarke (Asteraceae) from the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve, India

Abstract

The present article deals with the taxonomic status and the identity of steno endemic Senecio lawsonii Gamble and Senecio lessingianus C.B. Clarke (Asteraceae). Senecio lessingianus is reinstated here as a separate species. An updated nomenclatural citation, a detailed description, SEM images of pollen grains, phenology and notes on actual range distribution, conservation status and colour photo plates of the species are provided here to facilitate easy identification.
