Abstract

Two distinct species of eriophyids damaging grapevines (Vitis vinifera L.) have thus far been found in Portugal: Eriophyes vitis (Pgst.) /(=Colomerus vitis (Pgst.) (Newkirk & Keifer, 1971)/, a gall mite causing erineum patches on the underside of the leaves, and Calepitrimerus vitis (Nal.), behaving basically as a rust mite; it is also known as Epitrimerus vitis Nal. or Phyllocoptes vitis Nal. (Carmona, 1966).
