With the gradual opening-up of the Neotropics, however, many radical changes in habitat are occurring and it is important to determine which 'species are affected, and in what manner, by man's encroachment. This paper presents: (1) observations on the natural history of several reptiles found in the Belize City area; (2) the ecological distribution of reptiles in the area; and (3) a brief discussion of the future of the Belize City reptile fauna.
