Abstract

In this squib I will present Korean data that may have some bearing on the recent treatment of reflexive movement (cf. Chomsky (1986), among others) For more discussion on this topic, see Battistella (1987), Cole, Hermon and Sung (1990), Hung and Tang (1989), Katada (1991), Pica(1987) and Yang(1989). . I will first show that Wh-movement, but not reflexive movement, exhibits “the Q-Island effect”. And secondly I will show that a reflexive element must not pied-pipe at LF.
