Abstract
I employ this subfamily name as used hy Hampson although I believe that in all probability it must be restricted to the genus Acronicta Ochs. and its few close allies, and the term Ampphipyrinae, as used by Seitz in his Macrolepidoptera of the World, employed in its place.
