Abstract
Wilson (1900) described in a general way the movement in Pelomyxa carolinensis. Mast (1926, 1931, 1934) made a detailed study of the process of locomotion in Amoeba proteus and in Pelomyxa palustris. During the course of a study on the function of the protoplasmic constituents in Pelomyxa carolinensis, the author made numerous observations on the process of locomotion in this species. In view of the fact that practically nothing has been published concerning details of locomotion in Pelomyxa carolinensis, it seems desirable to present the following notes.
