Abstract

A species of Passalora was observed to cause small, angular spots on the under surface of the leaves of Tephrosia candida DC. during autumn and generally was found in association with Stigmina tephrosiae Agnihothrudu (1962). Passalora is used in this paper for Cercosporalike fungi with predominantly 1-septate conidia with the lower cell somewhat swollen. As none of the species of Cercospora described on Tephrosia spp. or Passalora described on various leguminous hosts agree with the fungus, a new species is proposed.
