Abstract

Research Article| February 01 2020 Notes on Bewilderment Arianne Zwartjes Arianne Zwartjes Arianne Zwartjes (ariannezwartjes.com) teaches for the Sierra Nevada College low-residency MFA program, and has also taught at the University of Arizona and the United World College. In her other life she has worked as a wilderness-medicine instructor, an EMT, and a carpenter. She is the author of the lyric nonfiction medical-humanities book Detailing Trauma: A Poetic Anatomy. Her writing won the Gulf Coast Nonfiction Prize and was a Best American Essays Notable; it has appeared in Tarpaulin Sky, Kenyon Review, Southern Review, Ninth Letter, Feminist Wire, and elsewhere.
