Abstract
Abstract In the preliminary list of New Zealand fossil polychaetes (Fleming 1971), two species of Spirorbis s.l. were figured but were not attributed to species. Dr Peter J. Vine, Zoology Department, University College, Galway (formerly at University College, Swansea, South Wales), who has completed a study of Spirorbinae (as yet unpublished), has kindly forwarded his comments with permission to publish them.
