Nectaropetalum kaessneri Engl. in Engl., Bot. Jahrb. 34, I51 (1904); Verdcourt in Kew Bull. 1954, 35 (I954)The following is the southernmost record for this species. The flowers of N. carvalhoi Engl. are larger. TANGANYIKA. Creek near Dar-es-Salaam, March 1940, Vaughan 2946 (EA): shrub above highwater mark, rare, flowers white. Korogwe-Handeni road, 390 m., 14 Jan. 1954, Faulkner 1333 (EA, K): large bush with pure white strongly scented flowers, common on forest margin.
