Abstract

The analysis has pointed out that bārā’, yāṣar and ‛āśāh have a particular importance in Deuteroisaiah, above all to demonstrate the falsity and the inexistence of other gods. The large use of the late verb bārā‘ in this prophetic book suggests that it was introduced first by its author. The protological sense of this verb is exclusively assumed in the first chapter of Genesis in order to integrate the polyvalent ‛āśāh. The expression la ‘ăśôt, at Gn 2,3, is to refer to the 7th day with the meaning of sanctifying. Yāṣar represents rather a particular manner of Jahve’s operating in his work of creation or in his other action.
