Abstract
Fuzzy sets are regarded as the links between natural categories (classes) and sets. Formally, a (modified) fuzzy set appears as a partially ordered subclass of a product class U × V ×[0,1], where the elements of U and V are (real or imaginary) objects and predicates, respectively. Thus the proposed modification represents a generalization in the pure mathematical sense but a specification in the sense of interpretation and application.
