Abstract

Abstract A chromatographic-spectral method can be vised for the determination of caffeine in coffee products as well as in beverages and caffeine-containing drugs. Four methods (the official micro Bailey-Andrew and three chromatographic procedures) have been compared on six different types of coffees. A modified version of the Levine procedure appears to have value as a general purpose caffeine method.
