Abstract

The universal scaling conjecture for hadron properties at finite density is examined in the Nambu and Jona-Lasinio model with inclusion of a dilatation field. The dilatation field connects the chiral symmetry breaking scale and the gluon condensate via the QCD trace anomaly. We find that the universal scaling at low density is not realized for reasonable parameter ranges. The change of the gluon condensate at low density turns out to be negligible as compared with that of the chiral condensate.
