Abstract
Magnitude estimates of the intensity of emotional involvement in four potential future events were obtained from 29 Ss, assuming that the events were to occur at five alternative points in time. The over-all intensity of involvement varied between events. However, the relation between involvement and time was similar for the four events; involvement decreased exponentially with increasing temporal distance.
