Abstract
Closed-form deformation solutions are obtained for rotating circular disks of variable thickness due to angular acceleration. The disk is centrally mounted on a circular rigid shaft. It is found that the tangential displacement is independent of Poisson's ratio of the disk. Tangential displacement distributions for a b = 0.1−0.5 are presented graphically.
