Abstract
The dead-time induced counting loss in the detection of pulsed radiation, in certain cases, does neither depend on the exact magnitude, type, and possible variations (e.g., with signal amplitude) of the dead time nor on the shape of the radiation pulse. These favourable cases and the resulting simple calculation of the losses are discussed.
