Abstract

The article reports a study on the role of gender differences on drug metabolism, tolerance, side effects, and benefits from prescribed medications. It cites the recommended dose of the common sleep drug Ambien which is cut by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for women due to delayed or adverse reactions. It recommends that researchers and medical practitioners must consider gender differences before providing women with better treatments.
