Abstract

Background: Early and accurate identification of pediatric trauma patients who will require massive transfusion (MT) is not well established. In adults, an ABC score >2 (defined by penetrating mechanism, positive FAST, SBP120) identifies trauma patients who require MT with sensitivity and specificity of 75 and 86%, respectively.
