Abstract

This paper aims to provide valuable contributions to the field of study on the History of Education, stimulating a discussion on topics such as the periodicals and school records; likewise, the article seeks to delineate the paths taken by researchers regarding the use of these source materials in the History of Education, which is the focus of studies conducted in public universities in Mato Grosso do Sul State, aimed at consolidating historical documents, essential tools for research purposes. The historical approach is focused on archival and bibliographical research and has been developed through the use of localization procedures, recovery, documentary collection, selection, and assembling documentary sources of public records and school records in Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul, associated with a conceptual framework linked to the History, the History of Education and Archiving. The results show that the efforts undertaken at the early stage of this project allowed assembling a set of documents, which enables researches of various educational approaches in Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul, highlighting theorganization of public education in the State, the operation and organization of the educational institutions. In this sense, the article seeks to encourage similar initiatives towards the consolidation of this field of study and research in the History of Education in Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul, encouraging and strengthening the so-called network of sociability
