Abstract
Working Lands for Wildlife (WLFW) is the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service's (NRCS) premier approach for conserving America's working lands to benefit people, wildlife, and rural communities. WLFW uses co-produced science to develop frameworks that guide and help target Farm Bill conservation actions spanning multiple states and focal species. Frameworks provide the common vision and coordination to address resource concerns and ecosystem threats across boundaries. This WLFW Northern Bobwhite, Grasslands, and Savannas framework for Eastern United States shares the vision of achieving ""Wildlife Conservation Through Sustainable Agriculture."" This framework addresses the five primary threats to Central and Eastern grassland and savannas: 1.) Habitat loss, fragmentation, and disruption of functional connectivity; 2.) Climate change; 3.) Altered disturbance regimes; 4.) Invasive species; 5.) Localized impacts. This framework builds on past conservation efforts in addressing threats impacting Central and Eastern grasslands and savannas.
