Abstract

ATTITUDES TOWARD DEONTIG LOGIC, ONE of the most recent branches of logic, vary according to logical and/or philosophical presuppositions. While some wonder what its significance could be in, for example, ethics or law, others see it as the product of a creative activity which gives deontic logic its formal, structural properties. These properties, according to this view, determine the proper value of deontic logic independently of the question of its use.
