Abstract

Summary : Word association normsfor 366 names of objects This paper presents a database of word association norms developed for experimental research in psycholinguistics. It contains free association norms for over 300 words in the French language, collected from a group of 89 French speakers, between the ages of 18 and 25. These norms will be of use to researchers and students in many fields of psychology, especially in the study of language and memory, where the degree of association between pairs of words is often an important experimental variable. This is the first large scale collection of French norms to be published. The main part of the article contains an alphabetic list of all associative responses and their frequency for each of the 366 stimulus words. Key words : word association norms.
