Abstract

Normapolles pollen are a common component in the Upper Cretaceous and Palaeogene flysch of the Carpathians where the stratigraphic ranges of the taxa included in this group are comparatively short. As a result, it is possible to use them successfully for subdivision of the Upper Cretaceous and Palaeogene deposits of this region and for wider correlation.
