Abstract

Abstract A normal coordinate analysis for cyclopropenone is performed. The final force field is used to calculate the potential energy distribution. Mean amplitudes of vibration and perpendicular amplitude correction coefficients are reported for the first time for this molecule. The mean amplitudes in the ring are compared with those of cyclopropene. The differences are compatible with the idea of conjugation of the two double bonds in cyclopropenone.
