Abstract

A novel non-zero order joint transform correlator (NOJTC) is designed based on wavelet transform. In this technique, joint transform power spectrum (JPS) is decomposed into four sub-bands by wavelet function and is reconstructed using only horizontal or vertical detail coefficients (rely on alignment of the joint input images). Thus, zero order term is removed and desirable correlation signals are obtained. To achieve high discrimination ability, fringe-adjusted filter(FAF) and edge detection methods are applied to this wavelet-based non-zero order JTC (WNOJTC) and perform rather well. Detailed analysis followed by simulation results is presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed technique.
