Abstract

We study the stationary density profile of brownian particles near a partially absorbing plane wall. This profile is nonanalytic; the simplest possibility is a variation with a fractional power of the distance. If particles not absorbed are reflected specularly, then the exponent is a continuous function of the absorption coefficient.
