Abstract

1. An analysis has been made of the application, for microporous carbon adsorbents, of the Dubinin-Stoeckli (DS) adsorption equation, obtained on the basis of the theory of volume filling of micropores for a slit-shaped model of the micropores and for a normal distribution of the micropore volume with respect to pore half-width. 2. The parameters of adsorption in distribution equations determined by means of a computer from an experimental adsorption isotherm are only effective parameters if the microporous carbon adsorbent has a well-developed surface of mesopores. 3. In order to obtain the real parameters of the distribution equation characterizing the micropore structure, it is first necessary to correct the experimental isotherms for adsorption in the mesopores. 4. Different versions of the γ/F method are considered for use in determining the specific surface area of the mesopores in microporous carbon adsorbents with different types of size distribution of the micropore volume. 5. Features of the development of mesopores are discussed in the case of carbon adsorbents with a wide size distribution of the micropore volume.
