Abstract

Digital speckle correlation method (DSCM) is used to investigate fatigue evolution in the YBa2Cu3O7−x coated conductors (YBCO CCs) at room temperature. Damage analysis based on the DSCM has been performed to detect the damaged areas on the experimental samples. Two important parameters including stiffness variation (E) and dissipated energy per cycle (H) have been calculated for every fatigue test. Moreover, the superconducting specimens are subdivided into five sections with a distance of 1 cm between each of them, and the local critical currents (77 K and self-field) of fatigue and fatigue free are measured. The nonuniform current distributions are observed and can be interpreted qualitatively.
