Abstract
Explicit formulas for the central extensions for Lie algebras of differential and pseudodifferential operators on the supercircle S1∣N and the general n-dimensional manifold Mn are given. Possible applications of these formulas to gravity theories coupled with higher spin fields in two and higher dimensions are discussed.
