Abstract
Methods for approximate measurements of electron concentration and mean energy, rates of various types of inelastic reactions with electron participation, and populations of lower levels of excited atoms directly from probe current-voltage characteristics (CVCs) are presented. Also described is a measurement and computation complex based on a personal computer, intended for automation of probe CVC processing by the methods described. Results of applying this approach to determination of discharge parameters in Ne are offered.
