Abstract
Emission has been detected from electrically stimulated frog gastrocnemius muscles. It had wavenumbers certainly below 50cm−1, and arguably less than 5cm−1. The radiation has been shown to be non thermal, thus originating in some subsystem rather than in the muscle as a whole. This is in line with a pumped phonon prediction by Frohlich.
