Abstract

In the past decade, a new paradigm in the approach to rhinoplasty has been utilized in select patients where improved cosmesis is achieved through nonsurgical means. Termed the nonsurgical rhinoplasty, this technique utilizes neuromodulators and soft-tissue fillers to evoke facial harmony. We introduce the concept of nonsurgical rhinoplasty by presenting a case study where radix augmentation was achieved through tissue filler injection with photo-documentation illustrating postprocedure results. For both categories of neuromodulators and tissue fillers, we compare the agents available to the cosmetic surgeon and highlight examples of typical use during nonsurgical rhinoplasty. We also examine the potential complications that can be encountered during tissue filler augmentation and provide instruction to minimize these complications. Nonsurgical rhinoplasty may be appropriate in select patients who desire facial harmony through the use of dermal fillers and neuromodulators.
