Abstract

Non-store retailing is the selling of goods or services outside the confines of a physical retail facility. This form of retailing accounts for an increasing percentage of consumer purchases (Exhibit 18.1) and includes personal sales methods such as in-home retailing and teleshopping, and non-personal sales methods such as automatic vending and mail-order retailing, including catalogue retailing. Certain non-store retailing methods fall into the category of direct marketing such as the use of nonpersonal media or telesales to introduce products to consumers, who then purchase the products by mail or telephone.KeywordsEuropeShippingMarketingExpenseAlbaThese keywords were added by machine and not by the authors.
