Abstract
A quasi-static problem of thermoelasticity for an infinite solid cylinder with a ring-shaped crack, enclosed in a thin shell is considered. The stress intensity factor for various crack sizes is calculated, growth and stop of the crack when cooling the cylinder are analyzed.
