Abstract
A simple phenomenological model is proposed that takes into account nonstationary convective mixing transfer of a gas or refractory solid nanoparticles from a near-surface layer of a melt drop into the volume, which is driven by a shear flow arising when a plasma flow bypasses the drop. It is shown that this phenomenon can lead to significant intensification of the mass transfer in comparison to the process of diffusion.
