Abstract

The performance of nonstandard slotting cutters with mechanical fastening of the cutting insert is studied experimentally. Proposals are made to decrease the consumption of energy (by mechanical fastening of the insert instead of soldering) and material (by repeated tool-holder use) and to ensure consistent quality of the cutting insert’s heat treatment in cutter production.
