Abstract
Estimation of nonsquare constants, in the sense of James, of Orlicz spaces is given. Clarkson’s inequalities for Lp space have been generalized for Orlicz space by using M. M. Rao’s interpolation theorem. The exact values of nonsquare constants of a class of reflexive Orlicz spaces are also obtained by using a new quantitative index of N-functions and the inequalities of Clarkson type for Orlicz spaces. 1993 Mathematical Subject Classification: 46B30.
