Abstract
The possibility of intramolecular nonradiative decay of an initial state |sO〉 to directly coupled final states {|⌊w〉} far from resonance [i.e. under condition ∈ sO − ∈ ⌊w〉〉 ℏΓ ⌊w(∈ sO)] is investigated. It is concluded that nonresonance transitions can govern and control the radiationless properties of the systems with the large interstate energy gaps.
