Abstract
A novel coupled image guide was designed and tested from 26.5 to 40 GHz. The nonreciprocal structure consisted of two dielectric image guides separated by a YIG/GGG ferrite film. Electromagnetic scattering matrix elements of the device were measured for the magnetic field applied perpendicular to the ferrite film plane. Nonreciprocal behavior in the scattering parameters was observed to be in agreement with analysis. The results indicated that various types of millimeter-wave passive devices could be realized in a planar geometry, such as isolators, filters, modulators, switches, and circulators.< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">></ETX>
