Abstract

The classic theory of multi-phonon transition was first developed by K. Huang in 1940s, which has been widely used since then to study many fundamental properties of semiconductors. Recently, Huang ’s classic theory was revisited and further developed with ab initio calculations. The previously ignored anharmonic effects have been considered and the calculated nonradiative decay rates for defects in GaN and SiC agree well with experiments.
