Abstract

New research conducted by Nonprofit HR shows that the charitable sector continued its growth in 2015, with more than half of the nation's nonprofits having increased staffing levels during the year. Further, even more expansion is expected for 2016, with about 57 percent of respondents expecting to hire additional staff, an uptick from the 50 percent that said as much this time last year. Combined with a stable turnover rate for the sector—19 percent—and competition from a healthy private sector, the data indicate that charities will continue to face challenges finding and retaining top talent.
