Abstract

A number of studies and surveys of the nonprofit sector confirm that U.S. charities have seen surges of demand for their services since the COVID‐19 pandemic began—coupled in many cases with stagnant or even decreasing levels of financial support. Now, additional research shows that nonprofits are looking for more support from unpaid volunteers than they were in prior years, but are having a much harder time finding volunteers to work with.
