Abstract

The effect of the terminal magnetic field and the plasma radius on the dispersion characteristics of nonpotential waves in magnetoactive plasma waveguides is discussed. The conditions of excitation of these waves by an electron beam at Cherenkov resonance are investigated. The mechanisms of sustaining the synchronism between the beam and the excited wave enhancing the efficiency of beam-plasma instability are determined. Methods for ensuring single-mode generation of waves in such system are indicted.
